Hey guys, the most interesting thing Ilearned on Wednesday was that early anatomy lessons whetreonly conducted in the winter. I was happy to hear that early Dutch scientist did not stand around smelly rotting flesh and watched disections. I also thought the set up of the disection theater there set up.
I too thought it was interesting that they were only conducted in the winter. I wonder if this was only due to the smell, or if the heat increased the rate of decay as well? Also, did that mean that students did not learn about anatomy during the other 3 seasons?
ReplyDeleteThey mentioned something about people carrying packets of herbs so even if it did smell they didn't have to smell it.
